Why We Bothered
Product choice is the least glamorous decision a grooming company makes and one of the most consequential. It’s the only thing we use that stays on your pet after we’ve driven away.
A few years of Dubai summers made the problem impossible to ignore. Coats that looked immaculate on Saturday were dull and greasy by Wednesday. Sensitive dogs came out of a bath cleaner and itchier. Double coats were being softened by conditioners designed to make silky coats silkier — exactly the wrong outcome for a Husky. And in a mobile van, which carries a finite tank of fresh water, a shampoo that needs an extra two minutes of rinsing per dog isn’t a minor inconvenience. It’s the difference between a coat that’s properly rinsed and one that isn’t.
Shampoo residue left in a coat is one of the most common causes of post-groom itching. In an air-conditioned home, on skin already dried out by the AC, it’s a guaranteed complaint.
So we ran a proper test instead of guessing.
How We Tested
Fourteen professional grooming lines. Twelve months. Real appointments, real coats, and the full range of what Dubai throws at a pet: sand, salt, chlorine, dust, blown undercoat and August humidity.
Every line was scored on the same seven criteria — the ones that actually determine whether a product works in a mobile van, in this climate, on this mix of breeds.
1. Rinse-Out Speed
Our vans are self-contained. Water is not unlimited, and every extra minute of rinsing is water we don’t have for the next dog. More importantly, a shampoo that clings is a shampoo that stays on the skin. Fast, clean rinsing was a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.

Professional concentrates get diluted before use — and how far they dilute matters enormously in a van. In practice, what we cared about was measurable and boring: how the coat felt at 48 hours, whether the dog was scratching that evening, and whether the skin looked calmer or drier a week later. This is where a lot of nice-smelling products fell down.
